Objective:To extract the polysaccharide and measure the polysaccharide content in Radix Codonopsis pilosulae. Method:The polysaccharide was obtained with the water extraction and alcohol precipitation method, and the polysaccharide content of the extraction was measured with the Phenol-sulfuric acid method. Result:The polysaccharide content in Radix Codonopsis pilosulae was 20.99%,the rate of recovery was 99.03%,and RSD was 1.01%(n=3). Conclution:The polysaccharide content in Radix Codonopsis pilosulae was higher than contents of other kind of Codonopsis pilosulae, it has much economic value.
