Abstract:Objective To establish the fingerprint of chrysanthemum in Huizhou area, Anhui province, China by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), to identify the different types of chrysanthemum, and to better evaluate the quality of florists chrysanthemum in Huizhou. Methods HPLC was performed on a Topsil HPLC C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm), with a mobile phase of acetonitrile (A)-0.1% phosphoric acid solution (B) for gradient elution, at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and a detection wavelength of 325 nm. The fingerprints of 20 batches of chrysanthemum in Huizhou area were established, and similarity evaluation, cluster analysis, and principal component analysis were used for data analysis. Results The similarity between the 20 batches of chrysanthemum samples ranged from 0.703 to 0.989. Different varieties of chrysanthemum were clustered into one group. Three principal components were determined by the principal component analysis, and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 82.401%. Conclusion The fingerprints established in this experiment have good precision, stability, and repeatability, which provides a preliminary research basis for intrinsic quality control and quality evaluation of chrysanthemum in Huizhou area.
