Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Huatan Jiangzhuo Zhuyu prescription in the treatment of type 2 diabetes patients with phlegm- blood stasis syndrome complicated with dyslipidemia. Methods A total of 60 type 2 diabetes patients with phlegm- blood stasis syndrome complicated with dyslipidemia were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were given metformin combined with Xuezhikang, and those in the observation group were given Huatan Jiangzhuo Zhuyu prescription in addition to the treatment for the control group. The course of treatment was 16 weeks for both groups. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score was evaluated before and after treatment, and the changes in glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, 2- hour postprandial plasma glucose, and blood lipids after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, both groups had a significant reduction in the TCM symptom score (P<0.05), and there were significant differences in the TCM symptom score before and after treatment between the two groups (P<0.05). There was a significant difference in the distribution of clinical outcomes between the two groups (P<0.05). Both groups had significant improvements in laboratory parameters after treatment (P<0.05), and there were significant differences in these laboratory parameters before and after treatment between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Huatan Jiangzhuo Zhuyu prescription can improve symptoms, reduce blood sugar, and regulate blood lipids in type 2 diabetes patients with phlegm- blood stasis syndrome complicated with dyslipidemia.
