Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of pricking blood therapy at Zhongchong point combined with Western medicine treatment in children with herpangina. Methods A total of 86 children with herpangina were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 43 children in each group. The children in the control group were given aerosol inhalation of ribavirin and oral administration of Xiaoer Chiqiao Qingre Granule, and those with bacterial infection were given amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium granules as the anti-infective therapy. The children in the observation group were given pricking blood therapy at Zhongchong point in addition to the treatment for the control group. Symptomatic treatment was given to children who had severe fever. Results The observation group had a significantly better clinical outcome than the control group (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly better results in shortening fever clearance time and regression time of herpes and pharyngalgia (P<0.05) and had no significant adverse events. Conclusion Pricking blood therapy at Zhongchong point combined with Western medicine treatment in children with herpangina has a better clinical effect than Western medicine treatment alone and can shorten fever clearance time and herpes regression time and improve the symptoms of pharyngalgia and dysphoria.
