Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of tendon-bone manipulation massage combined with Baduanjin exercise in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR). Methods A total of 60 CSR patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were given conventional massage combined with Baduanjin exercise, while those in the observation group were given tendon-bone manipulation massage combined with Baduanjin exercise, once every other day, with 10 times as one course of treatment; both groups were treated for 1 course. The two groups were compared in terms of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score, Neck Disability Index (NDI), clinical outcome, and recurrence rate before treatment, after treatment, and at follow-up (at 3 months after treatment). Results Both groups had significant reductions in VAS score and NDI score after treatment and at follow-up (P<0.05). Compared with the data after treatment, both groups had a significant reduction in VAS score at follow-up (P<0.05), while the observation group had a significant reduction in NDI score (P<0.05). The observation group had significantly lower VAS score and NDI score than the control group after treatment and at follow-up (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group had a significantly better clinical outcome (P<0.05) and a significantly lower recurrence rate (P<0.05). Conclusion Tendon-bone manipulation massage combined with Baduanjin exercise in the treatment of CRS can significantly alleviate cervical pain and dysfunction and improve clinical outcome, with a good long-term effect.
