Objective To investigate the clinical effect of desloratadine citrate disodium tablets combined with Yupingfeng Capsule in the treatment of chronic urticaria. Methods A total of 40 patients were divided into treatment group and control group according to the order of registration, with 20 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were given oral desloratadine citrate disodium tablets alone, and those in the treatment group were given Yupingfeng Capsule in addition to the treatment in the control group; the course of treatment was 4 weeks for both groups. The two groups were compared in terms of symptom score (number, size, frequency, and duration of wheal and degree of pruritus), serum IgE level, and clinical outcome before and after treatment. Results Both groups had a significant reduction in symptom score after treatment (P<0.05), and there were significant differences in the reductions in the score of wheal duration and the total symptom score between the two groups (P<0.05). Both groups had a significant reduction in serum IgE level after treatment (P<0.05), and the treatment group had a significantly greater reduction than the control group (P<0.05). There was a significant difference in treatment outcome between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Yupingfeng Capsule in addition to oral desloratadine citrate disodium tablets has a good clinical effect in the treatment of chronic urticaria.
