Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of external application of Sanshi Shengxin Cream in the treatment of perianal abscess after Milligan-Morgan hemorrhoidectomy for mixed hemorrhoids. Methods Eighty patients with perianal abscess after mixed hemorrhoids surgery were randomly and equally divided into treatment group and control group. From the second day after surgery, in addition to a Cortex phellodendri Decoction bath, the treatment group was given external application of Sanshi Shengxin Cream, while the control group was given wet application of 50% magnesium sulfate solution. At 7 days after surgery, the resolution of perianal abscess in both groups was evaluated, and the time to wound healing was compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the treatment group had a significantly better outcome in the resolution of perianal abscess (P=0.07) and a significantly shorter time to wound healing (P=0.001 1). Conclusion The external application of Sanshi Shengxin Cream can promote the resolution of perianal abscess after mixed hemorrhoids surgery and shorten the time to wound healing.
